Schofield, now based in Florida sun, was born in Manchester, England and grew up in the scenic Cotswolds. He began playing guitar before he began middle school. But unlike his schoolmates who mimicked the Beatles, Schofield was moved by American blues. He was mesmerized by the BB King video his father, who moved to America, gave him before he left. Schofield played it repeatedly, memorizing the masterful guitar work of King and Stevie Ray Vaughn. That led him to his father’s blues record collection and a life-long love of the music.
At 18, he moved to London and honed his skills as a sideman with some of London’s best-known blues artists.
Today, Schofield a singer-songwriter, who has been inducted into the British Blues Hall of Fame, tours the U.S. and Europe with his trio, featuring a unique blend of old school blues, classic jazz and soul.
